If you want to boost your profits, focus on email list building. Why?
People buy from people they like and the average person doesn’t buy until the 6th or 7th contact …and the average person does not buy from the person that introduced them to the product they eventually buy.
Here’s the formula: no list = no frequent contact = no relationship = fewer sales
So how do you build an email list? Here’s a simple email list building strategy:
- Create bait. If you want your prospects email address, give them a compelling reason to give it to you. The bait can be an informational report, a video, software, script, etc. Get inside your prospect’s head and determine what they want that is tied to a strong emotional need, that they are proactively looking for, and for which they have few perceived solutions.
- Put your email sign-up box and a photo of your bait above the fold (what your prospect sees on the computer screen without scrolling down). Eighty-five percent of visitors do not scroll down …that’s a scary statistic – use it to your advantage. If you don’t have an email autoresponder account, I use and recommend Aweber – they make it easy to setup a list and give you the email sign-up box code you or your web designer can drop into your web page (and yes, that is an affiliate link).
- Have a clear call to action. A clear call to action is a command like “Enter your first name and email address below for instant access to your copy of “Estate Planning Secrets the Government Doesn’t Want You to Know”.
Give your email list subscribers a mix of valuable content and marketing.
If you market to them with the majority of your emails, they will probably get burned out and unsubscribe. Give them value and occasionally present your offer and they will come to like you, which will increase the odds they will buy from you.
